Situated in the shadow of Glasgow’s Kingston Bridge, and home to many large restaurant and entertainment chains, “The Quay” (formerly known as “Springfield Quay”) is an award winning, popular riverside leisure venue seen by over 150,000 travellers who cross the bridge daily. Rebranded by Centurion Signs UK, this premier destination is more impressive and visible than ever before.
One of the most striking changes to “The Quay” is the new illuminated feature cladding formed from over 600no individual coloured battens, each of varying lengths from 1500mm to 12,300mm long. Constructed using a bespoke extruded aluminium profile, acrylics and illuminated by a low energy LED lighting system, the finished effect is a rainbow of colours in the form of a kaleidoscopic ribbon wrapping its way around the site.
Individual, illuminated tenant signs were subsequently integrated into the feature cladding.
Equally remarkable are the new branded monolith sign, fully illuminated, towering 15m above the ground plus the main profiled feature panel, formed around the eastern corner of the main riverside building.
In addition, our scope included a remit to improve general directional and parking signage which we achieved by the design, manufacture and installation of an identifiable, simplified post and panel scheme.
