We are always enthusiastic about any project we undertake, but for this one we didn't need any convincing! Ardnahoe Distillery is the ninth distillery to open on the beautiful island of Islay, and Centurion were delighted to be appointed to design, manufacture and install all internal and external signage.
Being a new build distillery designed to fit into the local landscape, we had to ensure our signage followed a similar theme whilst at the same time carried a strong brand message. We set to work by sending out a survey team to explore the island and take in the surroundings. This enabled us to come up with a sign family which was both weather resistant and good on the eye.
Following several consultations with the Ardnahoe project team we produced a full visual package which detailed materials, colours, sizes and locations of the proposed signage. A couple of tweaks here and there and we were ready to go to production, which would take just under three weeks.
Externally we installed a freestanding monolith, LED halo illuminated gold painted built up letters as well as car park wayfinding and road traffic signage.
Internally we decorated the visitors centre and cafe with gold cad cut vinyl, etch vinyl applied to the walls and digitally printed Digimura wallpaper with stood off 10mm foamex panel wrapped information boards. This was complimented with the etch vinyl glass detailing and flat cut lettering feature wall.
All works were designed, manufactured and installed by our in-house team. The installation was carried out over two phases, one for external signage and one for internal, to work in synchronisation with the construction programme.
